How to sell fast on Vinted

Updated: August 2026

Selling on Vinted isn't down to luck: it comes down to a handful of details most people overlook. Here's what actually affects how fast things sell, ranked by impact, no filler.

1. Have a complete, trustworthy profile

Before they even look at your items, a lot of buyers check your profile: real photo, bio and ratings. An empty profile creates doubt, and doubt makes people buy from someone else instead of asking you a question. Verify your email and phone number from the start: it's free and removes friction for your first sale.

2. Upload at least 5 good photos

Items with 5 or more photos sell noticeably faster than ones with just one or two. Photograph the whole item, a label showing size and fabric composition if there is one, and any flaw up close. Showing it builds more trust than hiding it, and avoids returns later. For more detail on lighting, background and framing, see our guide on how to photograph clothes to sell online.

3. Write a title and description people can actually find

Vinted's search runs on keywords: if your description just says "jumper for sale", you won't show up when someone searches "green knit jumper size M". The more specific you are about item type, colour, brand, size and condition, the more searches will surface your listing.

This is exactly the part that eats the most time when you're listing several items in a row. With Fotolista you upload the photo and the AI generates the title and description optimised for Vinted in a few seconds, using the platform's exact condition wording (new with tags, very good, satisfactory...).

4. Price it competitively, not what you'd like it to be worth

Before setting a price, check items that have actually sold (not just listed) of the same type, brand and condition — the asking price and the real sale price are usually different. A well-priced item sells within days; an over-optimistic one racks up views without buyers and ends up dropping anyway, having lost its "new listing" visibility along the way.

5. List during peak hours

The window between 6pm and 10pm tends to have the most users online, so an item listed in that slot gets more eyes on it in its first few hours, which is when it gets the most visibility.

6. Bump items that aren't moving

If an item has gone days without any activity, Vinted lets you bump it back up so it appears as recent in search again. Use that moment to also reconsider the price or add a photo if you think it's missing something.

7. Reply to messages quickly

Most buyers message several sellers about similar items at once and buy from whoever replies first, not necessarily whoever has the lowest price. Turn on notifications and reply politely, even if it's just to say "give me a moment".

How long does it take for something to sell on Vinted?

It depends a lot on the category, the price, and how well-optimised the listing is. Applying these points — especially photos, description and realistic pricing — usually leads to noticeably more views and messages within the first few days.

Is it better to list fewer, well-prepared items or lots of items quickly?

Both at once: the more items you have listed, the more likely someone buys several at a time (and saves on bundled postage), but each one still needs a minimum of good photos and a careful description so it doesn't get buried in search.

Does this apply to Wallapop too?

Most of it applies equally (photos, realistic pricing, replying quickly). What's different is the exact condition dropdown wording, and Wallapop leans much more towards local, in-person meetups. See our guide on how to sell fast on Wallapop for the details; Fotolista generates each title already adapted to whichever platform you pick.
